Presidents Message

August 2026

Hello Sonographers,

My professional journey in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) spans more than three decades, during which I have cultivated a distinguished career defined by both exceptional clinical practice and a profound commitment to education. My foundational training commenced at Marygrove College in Detroit in 1989, marking the inception of my ultrasound career. Subsequently, I gained invaluable experience across prestigious medical institutions in both Michigan and Florida, where I currently reside, honing my expertise in diverse clinical environments.

Throughout this extensive period, I have consistently assumed leadership positions, contributing my specialized knowledge and strategic vision. This includes significant tenures as DMS Program Director at Baker College in Auburn Hills (12 years), Keiser University in Florida (3 years), and Oakland Community College (9 months). Furthermore, I previously had the privilege of serving as President of the Michigan Sonographers’ Society from 2009 to 2011. A steadfast advocate for continuous professional development, I have consistently championed the importance of engagement with our society among countless colleagues and students, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and collaborative growth.

Upon learning of the critical need for leadership within the society, particularly for an organization celebrating half a century of invaluable contributions, I felt a profound sense of duty to step forward. The potential for such a cornerstone institution to falter, an institution from which I have personally gained immense knowledge through its esteemed leaders, dedicated members, and insightful speakers, was a prospect I could not overlook. My deep-seated commitment to the MSS compels me to ensure its sustained vitality and relevance.

My professional endeavors are profoundly enriched by the enduring relationships forged with both peers and emerging professionals. I am honored to once again assume the role of President of the MSS, dedicated to guiding and inspiring the next generation of ultrasound technologists and ensuring the society’s continued legacy of excellence.

Warm regards,
